Defeated by My Own Thoughts

Have you ever stopped to think about some of the outcomes in life? What about the times you wish you would’ve tried harder? What about the choice that wasn’t made because you were too afraid? Or what about the moments when you made assumptions, acted on the lies, and messed up completely? Wow! I have been there and still fight with that one! What about the times that you seemed so negative; the situations that you just did not experience due to fear or disbelief and would like to have had a “do over” moment?

Well time, and life, only moves in one direction and that’s forward; whether we are willing to grow in the process or not. Nothing can be done about what already was or has happened, yet today we are all given opportunities to cause a shift to something greater. This process will start by choosing to “see and think” differently based on The Most High’s truth and ability.

“Trust in the Most High with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”

Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6

Trust =
G982
בּטח
[bâţach] \baw-takh’\

A primitive root; properly to hie for refuge (but not so precipitately as 2620); figuratively to {trust} be confident or sure: – be bold ({confident} {secure} {sure}) careless ({one} {woman}) put {confidence} (make to) {hope} ({put} make to) trust

ב  bet – tent floor plan – family house in
ט tet  – basket – surround contain mud
ח chet – tent wall – outside divide half

My definition: Trust is likened unto a wall that protects Fathers Word as it is stored within ourselves and those who we are given authority over, in order to walk out the commands given by The Most High. In our obedience to and study of the Father’s Word/principles, within our very beings we begin to contain more and more of His truth and it protects us from outside sources that come in to destroy.

What are we putting in our baskets?

Who are we allowing in our house?

What boundaries are set in the house?

What we put in our baskets will determine what protects us from outside sources or attacks from HaSatan that are out to destroy us/the seed that Father has sown or is sowing on us/through us!

Many times when these “imaginations” are seen as truth and then acted upon, it’s because we have not looked into and placed confidence in what Father is willing/able to do through our obedience. At other times it’s because of our lack of knowing what Father says He will do.  Our trust had taken a shift into the wrong direction and we had been deceived by our own hearts. (See Jeremiah 17:9)

When our trust is wholeheartedly in the Most High, then regardless of what life looks like, we keep pressing. We then are able to operate in the ability that He gives us; to act on His truth even when circumstances say different. (Putting Proverbs 3:5-6 into action)

When we look more into what we vaguely understand or lack of it thereof, we respond in ways that will cause confusion and get what we don’t want. Because we have chosen to act in ways that were outside of Father’s will and therefore comes judgment/curses.
(See Deuteronomy 28)

“(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through Elohim to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of Elohim, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of the Messiah; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭10:4-6‬ ‭

It’s a serious struggle for those of us who are emotionally driven or base our decisions solely on what we see to be going on and the perceptions that come out of it. It’s a struggle for those of us that have lacked in the ability to do based on our trust in Yah! Yet at the same time, it’s exactly in those moments where it all begins.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Elohim. And the peace of Elohim, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Messiah Yeshua. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the Elohim of peace shall be with you.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6-9‬ ‭

We see an action plan:

1. Humbly Pray.
2. Be thankful and let Father know your requests.
3. Given Peace.
4. Think on these things.

Do you ever wonder if some situations in life are caused by the way you choose to look at things; maybe even how you speak about your circumstances? What would you do if you knew that to feel more peace in your life, and possibly to experience moments of growth internally, you only had to add two main ingredients: faith and “changing the way you think about the Most High?”

Would you do it?

Well it is so true and there is no other way to show you than for you to try it for yourself.

Sometimes without a person even paying attention, they can actually act out their vain imaginations while putting them in the atmosphere on themselves. Let me explain. Have you ever heard someone say, “I ain’t never going to get a job!” or “I always have bad luck in relationships and end up with the wrong person!” Does this individual realize that what a person speaks out of their mouth has the power to manifest and will bring life or death in their own circumstances?

Sirach 37:18 Four manner of things appear: good and evil, life and death: but the tongue ruleth over them continually.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that indulge it shall eat the fruit thereof.

Nine times out of ten, this same individual will end up seeing the reality of only the things in which he or she spoke based on lies and not the truth of Father. And people walk around trying to figure out why things just don’t work for them. I have to admit, I used to be the same way yet Father has shown me through numerous trials that some of my problems had to do with the negative outlook that I once had/my lack of faith and trust in Him.

We have to learn that no matter what we do, that circumstances are going to come. We have to come to reality that we can choose not to react based on our emotions when things just don’t seem right. We have to learn to act on faith and show Father that we trust Him more than our situations or circumstances. I am not going to promise you that it is easy and there are going to be plenty of opportunities to develop the character of a person who lives off of their faith in Yah. But you know my friend, when Father created the earth and everything in it how many days did it take? And on the seventh day that He rested, before that what did He say? “It is finished!”

So therefore everything that you would have needed and all that Father had planned for you was already taken care of at that moment. Thousands of years before you were even thought of, Father took care of all your needs by charting the path that you were to take, not alone either, but with Yeshua our Messiah, He provided you more than enough. (See Psalms 139) So you see, when we worry, stress, get overwhelmed, become angry or upset, or saddened because we feel things are not going to work out for us, we are only meditating on the wrong things instead of meditating on what Father has already done. Think about it!! Why worry when you have a Father that has supplied all you will ever need and then he rested!!

Read – Isaiah 40:28-31, we see in verse 31 it says “But those who wait on the YHWH will find new strength. They will fly high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” As we allow ourselves to be in the rest of The Most High, He will supply us with all of the strength we need to persevere through all that comes our way!!

Read – Psalm 59:9; 105:4

So, I dare you to be more confident in Father and think on “these things” (Philippians 4:6-9) regardless of the battles that you will soon face. Yah our Elohim loves you and has more than enough to take care of you. When a storm arrives, praise Father and thank Him for a chance to see Him at work. Thank Him for the chance to show Him that you do have faith in what He has already done for you long ago.

Please feel free to share your testimony of faith.

Remember – In order to have a testimony you have to first take a test!!!!
